What does gerodontology mean?

Gerodontology is dedicated to oral care and oral health of the frail elderly.
Aging is increasing in Dutch society, also in dentistry. Oral care for the elderly is complicated because several factors can play an important role:
The patient is getting older and in many cases experiencing medical changes. In addition, self-care can deteriorate. It is therefore important that the elderly receive treatment appropriate to their situation. An individual dental plan is essential for the well-being of this vulnerable group.

Marjan, one of our dentists, has taken the Gerodontology Master Class and is therefore our specialist in this field of dentistry.

We are happy to help and guide the patient both individually and as a team. Here, possible contact with caregivers, children, relatives and other caregivers is central.
